Op zondag 16 februari 2025 organiseren we ons eerste eigen "evenement" in Echt, Limburg.
Niemand minder dan Reg Jans komt een lezing geven over de Slag om de Ardennen, The battle of the Bulge. In de serie Band of Brothers komt deze slag uitgebreid aan bod en heeft bij de vele kijkers een diepe indruk achter gelaten. Reg is wel een van de meeste bekende gidsen in de regio als het gaat om de slag om de Ardennen.

 Wij hebben Reg weten te strikken om bij ons zijn lezing te geven   over Band of Brothers in Bastogne. De lezing zit vol   beeldmateriaal en verhalen gebaseerd op ervaringen van de   veteranen die Reg persoonlijk heeft ontmoet.

 The Replacements zorgen voor de ideale omstandigheden om   deze lezing te volgen. De zaal is van alle gemakken voorzien en   zal ook met enkele voorwerpen uit eigen collectie worden aangekleed. Na de lezing is er voldoende gelegenheid om informatie uit te wisselen en iets te drinken. Wij nodigen jullie dan ook graag uit op 16 februari in het MFC de Pejjerhaof in Echt. Makkelijk te bereiken via de A2 of A73 of de N276.

Parkeren kan op de parkeerplaats bij de Lidl, parkeerplaats Albert Heijn Pey, rondom de kerk in Pey.
Zaal open om 13:30, aanvang lezing 14:00. Duur ongeveer 2x 50 minuten inclusief een pauze.

Who are we, what do we do and why?

“Replacements” are a group of living history enthusiasts from Holland, brought together by a common interest in Military life during World War 2.

All of us are ordinary men and women with ordinary jobs and other occupation, but during events we turn into a real “Band of Brothers”.  Our group owns no vehicles; some members do but the most rely on their boots.

Our goal is to try recreate the conditions (at the front line) during WW2 at re-enactment events, by setting up displays with (mostly original) equipment and uniforms. We feel it's our duty to remember the generation that gave their all for the liberation of Europe.
